What is Kambó?

Kambó or frog is an ancestral medicine used by the indigenous tribes of the amazon. It´s natural secretion contains a substance that acts as a potent purifier and natural stimulant. A basic treatment consists of using three consecutive sessions in less than 30 days. In order to use the medicine, little burns on the skin have to be made. This way, the secretion put on the burns can penetrate the skin and enter your veins. By women participants the secretion is applied on the legs, while on male participants its applied on the arms.

If it´s your first Kambó ceremony, the shaman or spiritual guide will apply the secretion on 4 to 7 points of the body. If it is not your first time to participate in a Kambó ceremony, the secretion will be applied on about 25 points on your body. Either way, it takes 15 to 30 minutes for the vaccine to have effect. Kambó is mainly used to awaken the intuition and inner wisdom. It helps to change the ways we look at life, erases the thoughts that don’t give you clarity and makes you generally happier.

Benefits of Kambó

Kambó has positive results on cancer patients, tumours, mental illnesses, insomnia, depression and personality disorders. It elevates your energy levels and has a profound cleansing effect of your physical and energetic body. Kambó also improves your immune system’s efficiency by purifying blood cells and healing all the organism’s chronic processes.
If you wish to participate in a Kambó ceremony, it is recommended to go on a diet for at least 1 day before the ceremony. The diet should exclusively consist of fruits and vegetables. Meat, fish, citrus fruits, salt, sugar, fried foods, oil, butter, soda, cigarettes, marihuana, chemical medicines, alcohol or any other drugs are not recommended to take in at least 24 hours before the ceremony. It is especially important to drink sufficient water before the ceremony; 2 liters is the recommended amount.
In order to obtain a good healing process it is recommended to have 3 continuous ceremonies of Kambó. The first ceremony is about initiation, the second one purification and the third one enlightment. In order to prevent any problems during the Ayahuasca ceremony, the people who have one of the following conditions are not allowed to participate.
  • Someone that did not do the diet at least 24 hours before the ceremony;
  • Pregnant women;
  • People who suffer epilepsy;
  • People with heart conditions;
  • Schizophrenia or mental health patients;
  • People seeking to get high or experiment.

Private ceremonies are booked 48 to 24 hours in advance and international ceremonies are booked 30 to 60 days in advance. After services are rendered, the guest can receive an itemized invoice or a proof of purchase in the form of a receipt. If the guest cancels 24 hours before services are rendered, s/he will have to pay 50% of the total value of the contracted services. If services are cancelled on the same day of the ceremony, s/he will have to pay the entire cost.
